About Union Fait La Force
United we stand. Divided we fall.
Union Fait La Force is an organization created as an outreach for the Haitian community in the United States. Our purpose is to raise awareness of the challenges facing Haiti and to bring Haitians and friends of Haiti together to help address them.
Our name comes from Haiti's national motto, “L'union fait la force” — unity makes strength. We believe that the Haitian diaspora, working together, can be a powerful force for positive change.
What we do
- Share clear, balanced information about the issues affecting Haiti
- Connect Haitians in the United States with one another and with opportunities to help
- Encourage volunteering, mentoring and the sharing of professional skills
- Promote transparency, accountability and civic engagement
Our principles
- Non-partisan — we do not support any political party or candidate
- Factual — we aim to present issues accurately and fairly
- Respectful — Haitians are the authors of Haiti's future
- Inclusive — everyone who cares about Haiti is welcome
